St Francis' Year 4 Visit to the Bank of England Museum
As a pre-visit for our upcoming Economics and Well-being Week (beginning June 23), Year 4 enjoyed an exciting trip to the Bank of England Museum. The children were fascinated by the wealth of information they discovered and thoroughly enjoyed the interactive, hands-on activities throughout the day. Among the many things they learnt were key financial terms such as debit, credit, overdraft, and savings. They were also surprised to find out that the Bank of England is owned by the government and was established during the reign of King William and Queen Mary. It was a fun, educational experience—and many wished they could have stayed even longer!
The original Royal Charter of 1694, granted by King William and Queen Mary, explained that the Bank was founded to 'promote the public Good and Benefit of our People'.
